PowerCable Direct is owned and operated by Gerard and Amy McNeill and specialise in the installation of new power connections for rural properties as well as trenching for underground services of electricity, telephone and water services to new buildings or when up-grading existing buildings etc.
The business was established as a privately owned company in 2003 based in the heart of the Selwyn District, Canterbury, NZ, however we also provide our services in Ashburton, Rakaia, Methven, Burnham, Rolleston, Leeston, Springston, Lincoln, Christchurch, Rangiora, Darfield and Sheffield.
Over time, we’ve gained an excellent reputation for our expertise and high standard of workmanship which reflects in the amount of repeat business and referrals we receive from our happy customers.

Health and Safety
As you can imagine, the NZ Electrical Industry sets very high standards for power supply contractors to meet, which means that only highly skilled and competent operators are able to work in that field.
However the team at PowerCable Direct are NZQA accredited and use industry standards for installing and connecting power between our customers and their network supplier, with regular audits to ensure we comply with industry regulations.
We are also a member of the Electrical Registration Board and hold the advanced Level Five Line Mechanic certificate which is why we insist on absolute compliance to ensure the safety of our clients and of course our staff.
Finally our staff are Site Safe accredited with current First aid certificates and use a Health and Safely policy which is Network approved.
